Head Monkee, Nikki

This is Nikki. We rescued her from an abusive situation where a family had bought her for their teenage son. He abused her so the parents took her away and sent her back to the people they had bought her from. I heard about it and made the long drive from Houston Texas all the way to Kansas City Mo. to meet her. The people had told me that the reason she had hair missing all over her head was because they had a big male spider monkey that had been harrasing her and not letting her eat. He was pulling her hair out and she was very thin looking. I handed them the money and visited with them for a while and played with the Chimp they had there, then we loaded Nikki up and headed back home.

She was great and so much fun to have around the house. She would play with our dog (Missy) by running up to her and grabbing her tail then turning around to run. She knew Missy would chase her everytime. So she would head straight for my bedroom door and climb the rope I had hanging for her and sit on top of the door, until Missy would give up and walk away. When Missy would turn to walk away, Nikki would jump down and tun after her to grab her tail again and then start this little game all over again.

Nikki would climb up on a half wall I had between my bedroom and bathroom. I had a swing hanging for her to play on. My bed was right beneath this wall and when I told Nikki to jump she would do a complete flip and land on the bed all sprawled out, and look at me like, "I did it mommy" then she would jump back up on the wall and wait for me to tell her to jump again. This is her sitting on the wall. Isn't she just sooo cute?

Head Monkee, Nikki

We really miss Nikki and Missy. But hopefully soon I will have two capuchins coming here to care for. They are a lot smarter then Spider monkeys, but I sure did love Nikki and her personality.

So now you know why I named this site JunkeeMonkee because I love to find and sell junk and I love monkeys too. One mans junk is another mans treasure!!!
